In keeping with our community feel approach
We've come to a decision on how we will do future conferences. Those of you who have registered or have looked into registering have seen that the price is $360.00, the conference is 360|Flex and the company is 360|Conferences. Notice a trend? Well, our next change follows the trend. You can read about it here, but the jist is this.
Future 360Conferences events will be limited to 360 attendees. As conferences go, that's small. Smaller in fact than 360|Flex San Jose was. Seattle has a bit larger capacity since we set the capacity before this change, but all future events will be 360, including speakers.
Why? Because community is important to us, because a conference of 2,000 people has no community feel, because there's no way to meet 2,000 plus people in just a few days. That's why.
What does this mean to you? Buy your 360|Flex Seattle ticket soon, because we may change our mind on that one too. =) Also, remember, there will be no more 360|Flex love until 08 sometime and even then it's only going to have 360 attendees.
Plus, like we mention on this other post, we'll be giving Alumni first dibs on tickets next time. If you're serious about Flex and serious about participating in this growing community, you better sign up and quick.

Does a "community feel" have anything to do with it? Restricting to 360 keeps a majority of the community out. I fail to see the logic.
I suppose it depends on your definition of community. MAX and other 2k plus attendee conferences, don't feel very community-like. People from my own home city were there, and I never saw them. That's not community. It's fun no argument there, but you can't connect with anyone because there's SO many people.
Our idea is that with a smaller group, the community becomes more tight nit. Names are more than email sigs or IM addresses.
The idea is also to have a more "regional" community. East Coast folks don't have to worry about trekking out to WA, they will have their own event (for example, not making any promises here). We don't want it to be a one time, miss it or miss out event.
This is a great idea... there are plenty of RIA conferences popping up in addition to the grand daddy of them all "Max"... This smaller approach promotes quality session tracks and quality networking opportunities.
