360Flex Poll: Shirts? Bags? Both?
Tom and I are facing a conundrum: provide a conference bag and/or providing a conference shirt?
I'm a fan of bags. I didn't much like last years MAX bag, since my 15.4" MBP wouldn't fit in it. I've still got an old Dev Con (yeah, I said old) messenger bag and a CFUnited bag; I like 'em.
Same with shirts. They're fun. They provide a nice concrete link to the memories, even if your wife wears it to bed or you change your oil in it.
Tom is the opposite on bags. He still sports his MAX Anaheim bag when there's a need and has no interest in another. He likes shirts though. Actually, his wife likes them (see PJ note above).
We figured what better way to be community focused than be asking you (the community) to chime in.
In the comments, indicate if you'd want a conference bag, a conference shirt, or both. While you're at it, how about some feedback? What kind of bags/shirts do you like?
This is your chance to not walk away saying, "That's the lamest bag ever. I can't believe that's what they gave us."
Speak now or forever hold your peace.

Shirts are always good unless they are lame. (Might need a dry shirt if it rains.)
Bags like the ones from MAX Anaheim are good, mine fell apart after 1 yr. of use. Flash messenger bags always looked cool but I never got one.
Conference is in Seattle, how about rain ponchos?
I prefer shirts - but please leave advertising off! I recently went to RailsConf and the front of the shirt was nice with a Rails Conf logo, but the back was littered with so much advertising that I would never wear such a shirt in public (even to work)!
Advertising on a shirt? we know you guys aren't NASCAR drivers, no worries there Jim.
The bags would have some logo-age. Most likely the 360|Flex logo, and which ever company or comapnies help sponsor the bags, so no more than 3 logos probably.
I'm all about classy, just ask the goldfish that live in the heels of my boots ;)
I prefer bags really, I tend to get more use out of them. I've got plenty of shirts that I really don't wear. But if it comes down to a cheapish bag or a nice shirt I'll go with the shirt.
I like bags. Zippy fleece vests and Baseball caps are good too.
T-shirts? The kids love 'em!! Presents for the rug rats are good tho. ;)
anonymous - it doesn't rain in seattle in august!
my vote is a bag.. Or if you do shirts, make them different sizes, not just geek XL :)
+1 for non-NASCAR shirts
+1 for nice conference bag. I'm partial to the messenger style bags. Of course it would have to fit a MBP...or else what's the point. Also, while you're in the feedback receiving mood, how about some nice 360 Flex stickers? Of a size that would go nicely with the small collection on the cover of my MBP.
@Tom,
oh we've got stickers covered :)
@Jim Can we put our logo on it? =)
@RainMongerers...Seattle in August is nice. If it does, rain...it'll be a drizzle and just enough to refresh the air. There should be no need for ponchos, especially if you're in the conference hotel. :P
@Daryn What conference do you go to? We'll have 4 Baby-Ts in stock for the handful of guys and 1 medium for our friend Peter, but XL is the required developer size, no? =) If we do decide to go for shirts, we'll ask for shirt size in a poll so we can have a good idea of how many we need.
T-shirt. So say we all. Caps are nice to.
My vote is for silk boxer shorts...Your wife would never wear those to bed. :o
Seriously though, for those of us the in south, a fleece vest will never get worn, bags are cool if they are the sweet leather luggage type (did I just blow the budget?), and T-shirts are cool too but they have say something like, "My FORhead is feeling loopy" and come with a sombraro and a bottle of tequila.
Okay...really seriously this time:
I vote for a polo type with the 360|Flex logo on the sleeve, and a small sponser logo at the back of the neck just below the coller.
My vote is for T-shirts since they remind me of the dot com days. Ahhh, the dot com days...
My vote is a bag but it would have to be something usable. But I also understand that it could be more expensive than a shirt.
Ryan
So we've started pricing bags. They ain't cheap, let us tell you. Specifically about 20 bucks a pop, that doesn't include embroidery of logos. We've no clue what that runs.
SO
We're trying to find out how best to not go broke on bags, while at the same time not making a ghetto NASCAR bag covered in logos.
SO
How many logos would be acceptable? 4? 5? more? each logo would represent a sponsor helping make 360|Flex Seattle memroable.
If we go with a bag, there's no reason to do it unless it's a nice bag. By nice I mean, it's not just a sack, it has quality construction and holds a standard MBP safely and comfortably. I could handle up to 4 logos, as long as they weren't lame companies :)
I want a commemorative 360Flex Seattle Shirts! Actually, I want two of them.
-1 for bags. I have more than enough. I only need one. It's my least favorite conference item.
( I also want shirts with "The Flex Show" on it, but I doubt you guys can help there )
I like bags best or worst. Mediocre bags = disposal-fodder. If it can hold my MBP w/o jostle and still have utility for materials then it will be used later on. Logos are fine as long as they are not too gawdy. T-shirts are always nice, though I would sacrifice it if we have a precedent-setting bag. Otherwise, skip the bag and go multiple T-Shirts of higher than standard quality.
really cool wrist bands with the Adobe logo on one and the Flex 360 logo on the other! Now that would rock!
@rassmass
WWJD = What Would John Do? I like that idea :)
3FS = 360|Flex Seattle?
LOL
Or... why not set up a cafe press store and let rass buy his own wristbands, in whichever color he likes (pink). :)
shirts...
Shirt yeah, bag no thanks.
I vote for t-shirts!
I love the flex show!
