360Flex we bumped into Renaun Erickson at the gas station

Tom and I were in Vegas doing some site scouting, and were putting gas into our rental penny racer, when Renaun Erickson pulled up behind us to put gas in his Hybrid (smart man).



I open the gas hatch on our car and start to pump the gas, "So Renaun, who should come to your session?"

sliding his credit card he looks up as he selects his gas grade, "Someone looking for alternative approach to Test Driven Development and black/white box testing in Flex.  This is not your typical FlexUnit/JUnit approach."


I pick up the window washy thing, that's at each gas pump, not sure it's any cleaner than our windows. Oh well dead bugs aren't very pretty to look at. I start to clean the window off. Tom asks, "Why should they come?"

Renaun is already almost done filling his tank, I'm starting to wish we had rented a "green car". "You should come to this session to experience new ideas and open you mind to new approaches to Test Driven Development and Deployment when coding with Flex."


Tom is emptying out our trash can, and most of the back seat (the trash can isn't very large in our FestiFocEon). He crawls through the back of the car, "What's the goal of your session?"

Renaun is putting the pump back, "Break the mold of typical Test Driven Development by demonstrating the use of Flex logging framework as a platform for black/white box testing.  Demonstrate a method of code test script hooks as you build the code.  And finally bring it full circle with showing how this can be used all the way to deployment making it possible for end user's to be part of your test script writing team."


Sixty bucks later I'm putting our pump away, "What two sessions are you looking forward to most?"

Renaun is walking around his car, to empty his trash and grab a water bottle that's empty, "Ben Stucki - How to build a Framework and Ben Clinkinbeard - Strategies for Creating Reusable Components"


As each of us get's in our cars, Renaun for points unknown, Tom and I for the next possible venue, someplace off strip that wasn't very expensive. I'm afraid. I ask Renaun, "What would you like to tell people about 360|Flex if they're on the fence about attending?"

Renaun rolls his window down, "Its Flex/AIR, small attendance levels, great fun, cheap, best Flex conference, and of course Tom and John, what else do you need!"

Renaun has been a speaker at every 360|Flex event, except Europe, Airfare was just too steap, plus he said he'd, "been to Milan like a million times, it's so boring!" Oh well.
